The new cammino di Francesco is not a single trail built from scratch. It is a 1,546 km network that pulls together preexisting Franciscan routes across Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Marche, Tuscany, and Umbria, connecting places already central to the saint’s life and memory – Assisi, La Verna, the Rieti valley, Rome, and the eastern Apennines.
