Southern Italy is emerging as one of the most dynamic areas of the country’s economy, with new data showing that the Mezzogiorno has outperformed the national average in growth over recent years while attracting increasing levels of investment, entrepreneurship, and industrial development.
According to research highlighted by Invitalia, southern Italy recorded GDP growth of 7.7% between 2019 and 2024, compared with 5.8% for Italy as a whole. The figures point to a region that is steadily strengthening its economic position through infrastructure projects, business incentives, and expanding investment opportunities.
