Italy dominates the world of artisanal gelato with seven masters in the global top ten

Italy’s reputation as the world’s gelato capital received another major confirmation in 2026, as Italian gelato makers secured seven of the top ten positions in the prestigious Gelato Festival World Ranking.

 The annual ranking, considered one of the most authoritative evaluations in the artisanal gelato industry, measures results achieved in international competitions involving more than 1,000 gelato artisans from around the globe.
