What's up with WTI: Editorial # 114

Ciao from Rome to all the friends of We the Italians, and Happy Easter!

We are particularly pleased and proud to announce the first partnership that kicks off a new season for We the Italians. We know that the problem of dual citizenship is very important for several members of the Italian American community, and that is why we are pleased to be able to help them achieve their dream of having an Italian passport. From today on, our partner Italian Citizenship Assistance will be at their disposal for this adventure, with a 10% discount on their services for all those who will send us an email to [email protected] with the WTITA code. Here you will find the interview to Marco Permunian, co-founder and U.S. Office Director of our new partner. So get on board and start working on your Italian dna, Italy wants YOU!

We are also very pleased to be able to announce that We the Italians is media partner of two other important events that take place between Italy and the United States. The first is InScena! The first Italian Theater Festival to take place in all five New York City boroughs. Now in its seventh edition, the festival is a must for all those who live in New York and are interested in Italian theater. We are very grateful to our friends Laura Caparrotti and Donatella Codonesu for this wonderful effort in representing the Italy of theater.

Another interesting media partnership we signed is the one with Professor Margherita Ganeri and the "Italian Diaspora Studies Association", who, in conjunction with the Department of Humanities at the University of Calabria, located has launched a new residential writing program dedicated to the topic of “Cultural Heritage and Memory”. Take a look at this month IT and US column, on this very magazine.

Last but not least: we’re working on something regarding Christopher Columbus. We've ’iscovered something very, very important, and we’re working on it. We’ll tell you more about this next month, stay tuned. Something’s gonna change, on this topic, soon, here, because of us.

As you know, starting last February every month on this editorial we’ll be remembering you an Italian proverb, starting every month with a different letter of the Italian alphabet. This month the letter is “C” and the proverb of the month of April 2019 is: Can che abbaia non morde (The dog that barks doesn't bite). It means that people who make the most or the loudest threats are the least likely to take action.

That’s all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!
