To wrap up the Week of Italian Cuisine, the Italian Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco planned a grand finale event: showing classic Italian films at a drive-in theatre on the San Francisco Bay and serving fresh Roman pinsa delivered to your car.
This Saturday, they will host the first “Italian Western drive-in” at the Fort Mason Theatre. After a bit of live jazz from the band Sonamó, the evening program starts with “A fistful of Dollars,” the masterpiece movie that made actor Clint Eastwood famous and launched the spaghetti western genre, followed by “An American in Rome,” an iconic funny flick that was produced in 1954 by chef Giada de Laurentiis’ grandfather.
