Italy’s network of the most beautiful small towns expanded again at the end of 2025, welcoming seven new locations that highlight the country’s geographic and cultural diversity. The recognition is reserved for towns that meet strict standards related to architectural preservation, environmental quality, accessibility, and local services.
Each candidate is assessed using more than 70 parameters, ranging from the condition of historic buildings to tourism management and community life. With these new additions, the total number of recognized villages across Italy has reached 382.
