The Italian government is set to significantly boost support for the teaching of Italian language and culture abroad, with new investments planned through 2027. This initiative, part of the proposed amendments to the 2026-2027 Budget Law currently under review in the Senate Budget Committee, responds to long-standing requests from Italian communities worldwide.
Under the proposal, an additional €500,000 per year will be allocated in 2026 and 2027 to support Italian language courses run by managing entities, organisations responsible for delivering classes to descendants of Italians and other language learners. These funds aim to ensure high-quality teaching and wider access to Italian courses globally.
