Narragansett, Rhode Island officials weren’t physically in the room for the May 5 Friendship City signing ceremony between their town and Pompano Beach (they attended via an online video connection) but there was a collection of New England staples present, including a can of clam chowder and a bottle of coffee syrup.
The latter isn’t as well known in South Florida as the former, but encouraging residents of Pompano Beach and Narragansett to visit each other’s communities and experience what each has to offer is one of the goals of becoming a Friendship City, part of Sister Cities International.
