Italian students outperform the OECD average in reading, math and science

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Italian students have delivered an encouraging performance in the latest international assessment of education, scoring above the OECD average in reading, mathematics and science at a time when student achievement is declining across much of the developed world.

The results come from PISA 2025, the OECD's international assessment of 15-year-olds. The study involved approximately 760,000 students representing about 33 million teenagers across 91 countries and economies. In Italy, 8,946 students from 285 schools participated, representing approximately 507,000 15-year-olds nationwide.
