Italian Consul General in Boston, Arnaldo Minuti participated in recent days in the inauguration of the new leadership of the Justinian Law Society of Massachusetts, founded in 1943 as the "Massachusetts Italian Bar Association."

In his remarks, the Consul congratulated new President Riccardo Rullo and thanked the members of the association for their "commitment to recognizing the contributions of Italian Americans to the law and preserving Italian cultural traditions. Your efforts to safeguard the rule of law also provide critical support for democracy, a cornerstone of U.S.-Italian relations."

In its early days, the association provided an opportunity for Italian American lawyers to meet and discuss the difficulties they faced in practicing a profession where many doors were closed to Italian Americans. Today, made up of a growing number of young women and men, judges, law students and lawyers practicing in state and federal courts, the Justinian Law Society is experiencing a renaissance as a new generation of members joins its ranks. Justinian's goal remains to preserve the traditions of Italian culture and to recognize the contributions of Italian Americans to jurisprudence.
