Hit Week, the only international music festival to bring Italy's most contemporary talent to a global stage, returns to the US from November 5th through 9th with tour stops in Los Angeles and Miami.
Headlining the latest edition of the annual event is songwriter / rapper Caparezza, literally Curly Head in the artist's local Puglian dialect. One of the most distinctive voices of Italy's new generation, Caparezza raps his way through Dante-esque fantasy worlds of his own creation, serving up sharp social commentary in a soundscape influenced by his metaphorical musical mentor Frank Zappa, that needs no translation.
Caparezza's sixth studio album "Museica" debuted atop the Italian charts in May 2014 before going on to achieve platinum certification. It features a collaboration with American poet / musician Michael Franti on the track È tardi (It's Late).
Opening Caparezza's first Hit Week show on November 6th at Los Angeles' legendary Whisky a Go Go is Violane, a transatlantic rock collaboration between California and Italy. Support for Caparezza on Hit Week's Miami date on November 8th at the North Beach Bandshell will be provided by Roman Alt-Rockers Kutso. While in Los Angeles, Caparezza will also be a featured speaker at The Billboard + Hollywood Reporter Film and TV Music Conference.

Hit Week (the H is not pronounced in Italian) was created with the goal of shattering the stereotypes most often associated with contemporary Italian music and its place in the worldwide music scene. After debuting in Los Angeles in 2010, the festival has since travelled to New York, Washington DC, Miami, Toronto and Montreal in the US and Canada, as well as the Chinese cities of Beijing and Shanghai and Rio De Janeiro in Brazil. Notable Hit Week alumni in the American market include Ludovico Einaudi, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Nicola Conte, Calibro 35, Franco Battiato and Elisa.
Hit Week 2014 is realized with the participation of FIMI (Federazione dell'industria Musicale Italiana di Confindustria / Italian Music Industry Federation of Confindustria), ITA - Italian Trade Agency of Los Angeles and Miami, the Italian Cultural Institute Los Angeles and under the auspices of the Italian Consulate of Los Angeles and Miami. Show partners are: the Italian Music Hub, The Rhythm Foundation, FIAT of North Miami, the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council and the Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs Tourist Development Council, JMV Media. Hit Week is produced by Music Music Experience Roma S.r.l and by Mela Inc. Los Angeles.
