Four billion dollars to challenge ChatGPT, OpenAI and Microsoft. Money that will be invested in Anthropic, an ambitious startup founded by two Italian American siblings-Dario and Daniela Amodeo. Anthropic's Claude and Claude 2 chatbots, based on large language models, are similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard in the sense that they can translate text, write code and answer various questions.

However, Anthropic says its model is more secure and reliable because it is guided by a set of principles, allowing it to review answers on its own rather than depending on human moderators. Claude is also capable of responding to larger queries, making it suitable for reviewing large business or legal documents.

As part of the deal, Amazon will acquire a minority stake in the company and has agreed to incorporate Anthropic's technology into many of its products. Conversely, Anthropic will be able to use an advanced Amazon chip as well as AWS's infrastructure.
