Sicilian extra virgin olive oil is once again confirmed as the best in the world. This was decreed by the prestigious international Olio Nuovo Days competition, held recently in Paris. Winning first prize as the best extra virgin oil in the competition was the Magihouse Valle dell'Inferno - Family Reserve from the Marino-Giambrone company of Cammarata, in the province of Agrigento.

A resounding success that makes the whole of Sicily proud and confirms once again how the island is the undisputed queen of the production of extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. The Olio Nuovo Days competition, now in its fourth edition, rewards the best extra virgin olive oils produced in the world and attracts the most emblazoned olive oil companies on the international scene.

Declaring Magihouse Valle dell'Inferno as the best oil overall was a prestigious jury composed of industry experts, journalists, buyers and personalities from the restaurant and art world, chaired by chef Eric Briffard, director of the Le Cordon Bleu Academy in Paris.

An award that fills all of Sicily with pride and once again confirms that the extra virgin olive oil produced on the island represents the absolute top in terms of quality and organoleptic properties. Sicily's unique soil and climate conditions, together with the native olive cultivars from which it is extracted, such as Biancolilla, Nocellara del Belice, Cerasuola and Moresca, give Sicilian oil unique characteristics that make it the best extra virgin olive oil in the world.

agihouse Valle dell'Inferno - Family Reserve is produced in the hinterland of Cammarata, in a small valley called "Valle dell'Inferno," where strong temperature ranges result in excellent chemical-sensory properties and very high levels of antioxidants. A medium-intense fruity oil, with high hints of bitterness and spiciness, a genuine expression of the Sicilian territory.

In addition to the first prize for best oil overall, another Sicilian oil distinguished itself at the Olio Nuovo Days in Paris by winning the award for best packaging: it is Corleone's Bona Furtuna. A resounding one-two punch for Sicily, which once again reaffirms its undisputed leadership in the oil sector.

This latest triumph further certifies the superior quality of Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, a true excellence of Made in Italy known and appreciated all over the world. A unique product that encapsulates all the scents and flavors of this wonderful land.
