It's officially a full-blown pie fight. Now, 2016 is firmly enshrined as the year the Chicago deep dish proxy war came to the Valley. First was Lou Malnati's, where waits for a table have routinely topped the 90-minute threshold since the restaurant opened at Phoenix's Uptown Plaza in May. Then came Gino's East, which is bringing its own style of deep dish to Arcadia by the end of the year.

Enter, Giordano's. Another of Chicago's most successful pizza chains is coming to the Valley, scheduled to open near Peoria Sports Complex in late November. With 59 locations spanning five states, Giordano's franchises some of its locations, but the Peoria location — previously a Corner Bakery Cafe at 83rd Avenue and Bell Road — will be operated by Giordano's corporate.
