Not many people think Italian when they think of Las Cruces, but a small group of people have managed to stay connected to their roots through the Italian Culture Club.

The club was formed in 2011 by Al "Chance" Cella, a fourth generation Italian-American who was born, raised and married in Brooklyn, New York. Cella and his wife, Maria, whose parents are from Gaeta, a city in the southern Lazio region of Italy (the region surrounding Rome), moved to Las Cruces from New Jersey in 2010, after visiting the area for several years.
