The stone castle at 13851 S. Tamiami Trail in south Fort Myers reopens to the public this weekend. Leopardi’s Italian Restaurant will open its doors at 11 a.m. Saturday with a menu of classic Italian fare, cocktails and pizzas. Owner Anthony Leopardi knows kitchens well, or at least how to construct them. The founder of Cornerstone Builders of Southwest Florida, he has worked in construction and remodeling for more than 30 years.
But Leopardi's is his first foray into the restaurant business. "It's always been my desire to open a restaurant," Anthony said. "It helps that my wife is a phenomenal cook. She comes from a family of chefs and she's always been better than all of them put together."
