The restaurant opened in December on Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville. Tell us about your place: Antonella Scibilia is the owner and chef at Fayetteville’s newest Italian restaurant, Antonella’s, which opened in December on Hay Street. “I had a great feeling about this location,” she said. Scibilia’s youngest son, Giancarlo, is the maitre d’.
The restaurant serves food primarily from the southern and northern regions of Italy, she said. Scibilia said her parents came to the U.S. from Sicily in the 1930s and opened a pizza shop in Brooklyn. They eventually relocated to North Carolina, where her father opened Valentino’s Restaurant. “I was raised in the restaurant business,” she said. “I love this business, and I love the people.” She was previously one of the owners of Little Italy on Walter Reed Road and Roma Pizza Cafe & Restaurant on Person Street.
