A popular italian restaurant in Bonsack is closed this week after the owner died in a kayaking accident. Sal's Italian Restaurant owner Salvatore Scotto-Dicarlo died in a kayak accident on Carvins Cove Monday. Since then well wishers have been dropping off flowers at the door of the restaurant.
Loyal customers like Gerda Sternfeld drove by the restaurant to see if they could offer any help to the family. "We're so very sorry for the tragedy, it's just terrible. He will be sorely missed by everyone. He was one of the best chef's around here," said Sternfeld.
