Lisa Meeting fell in love with Italian gelato in 2008. Her taste buds soared the firs time she tasted it in Florence, Italy, while stationed there with her husband. Upon her return to the states in 2010 she would dream of opening her own gelato cafe. That dream will become a reality this month with the soft opening of Cafe Frutta Fresca in Sneads Ferry at 322 Sneads Ferry Road.
A hybrid of sorts, Cafe Frutta Fresca (which translates to fresh fruit cafe in English) is designed to be a gelato shop with a bit of something extra. Ok, a lot extra. Customers will find pastries, cappuccinos, espressos, cookies, hand made candies, milkshakes and sorbets, soups, salads, pizzas and pasta when they enter the cafe’s doors. All of it made fresh, daily and prepared in house.
