Luigi's Restaurant, a popular Syracuse tradition for 62 years, is for sale

Luigi's Restaurant on Valley Drive, one of Syracuse's oldest Italian restaurants -- and probably one of the oldest of any kind -- is for sale. A real estate listing posted this week shows an asking price of $750,000 for the restaurant and building at 1524 Valley Drive.


Luigi's has been operated by Louis "Luigi" Savastino and his family since 1954, initially on South Avenue. It moved to the Valley Drive location in 1956. "After 62 years of being the owners and operators of Luigi's Restaurant, the family has decided to move on," the real estate listing says.
