Groppelo's is a classic american success story with a great back story. Maury Soares, a youthful hospitality pro, came to america by way of Brazil.
His uncle had an italian restaurant for 40 years, near Rio De Janeiro where Maury worked for 6 years and learned the hospitality business. Prior to his emigrating to the U.S., his grandfather told Maury to open a restaurant with the name Groppelo's, a name which would bring the restaurant good luck.
