There are not a lot of good Italian restaurants in Montrose. This observation will surprise absolutely nobody who has either traveled through there or lives around here. But just to make the point about the paucity, pizza places — Colorado Boy, Pahgre’s, Little Caesar’s, Domino’s, Papa Murphy’s and Pizza Hut — dominate the “Italian” category on review site Zomato.
Trattoria di Sofia doesn’t even show up. It’s not a chain. It isn’t flashy. And it’s easy to overlook: The restaurant is located just before the intersection of Townsend Avenue and Main Street, in a spot known for being a crossroads of anxious travelers — not a nexus for authentic Italian flavors.
