When thinking about the type of place one would find a good slice of New York-style pizza in the Big Apple, most picture a tiny neighborhood spot where people can pop in and out quickly, grabbing a hot slice or whole pie to go. Erik Borger had the same vision in mind when he secured the locations for his newest New York-style pizza concept, Pizza Tascio.
Keeping his footprint small, he opened the first location last year in St. Joseph, Missouri, utilizing the office of a former used car lot as his kitchen. For his second location, now open in North Kansas City, his team is serving slices out of a former check-cashing spot. Similar in size, both are small white buildings with a signature red trim, and both offer the same tasty menu with 13 different pizzas that feature either New York-style or a thicker pan-pizza crust.
