According to a recent liquor license application, Chef Matthew Accarrino is opening a new restaurant at 2232 Bush Street. The space was previously home to Out the Door, a “lower-key Slanted Door offshoot serving inventive modern Vietnamese fare,” and is right around the corner from Accarino’s existing eatery, SPQR.
The upcoming Pacific Heights restaurant will be called Mattina and, according to a recent report by SF Eater, will serve Italian cuisine. The menu hasn’t been publicized yet, but, if it’s a similar concept to Accarino’s Italian restaurant SPQR, Pacific Heights residents can look forward to “Italian entrees and tasting menus made with local ingredients.” It’s also worth noting that SPQR has earned a Michelin star every year since 2012.
