Any gently worn winter gear stuffed into the back of the closet is an ideal candidate for a new home this year. The Newington branch of UNICO, the largest Italian-American service organization in the U.S., is hosting its third annual Winter Willies Clothing Drive this Saturday.
New or used coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, scarves and socks will be collected inside the Community Room in the Lucy Robbins Welles Library from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. "This is one of our real heartstring events," said Meg Casasanta, chapter president. "It brings so many wonderful people out to donate these items for the less fortunate."
