The Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts recently held elections to renew its board and choose a new president.
The center's new president is Anthony Cassano, born in the small town of Torre Le Nocelle, in Campania. In 1961, at the age of 13, he immigrated to the United States, where many years later he would build a successful construction and real estate development business.
Cassano has served as president of the Kiwanis Club of Chelsea and has been a long-standing member of the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the Dante Alighieri Society since 2000 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2003.
