Funeral services for Antonio J. Tambone, a former resident, took place Wednesday in Winchester, Mass. Mr. Tambone, known as AJ, died at his home in Winchester with his family at his side. He was 94 years old and the husband of Alma (nee Soracco) Tambone. The couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in April.
Born in Feb. 10, 1921 in Sicily, he was the son of Maria and Agrippino Tambone. At 17, while attending Northeastern University, he built his first home. He attended Boston Architectural School until 1942, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served with the 42nd Construction Battalion, better known as the SeaBees.
