From Wednesday September 27th to Sunday October 1st the City of Sugar Land is hosting a multi-day film festival called Umbria in Sugar Land at locations throughout Sugar Land. The festival is an international project produced by the International Film Festival of Spello, also known as Festival del Cinema Città di Spello ed i Borghi Umbri. The sixth edition of the festival was presented at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival in September 2016.
All films will be in Italian with English subtitles. If you purchase a VIP ticket (either through single ticket or ticket packages), VIP amenities include preferred seating at film screenings and admission to the Aperitivo Receptions prior to the four evening screenings. The four evening Aperitivo Receptions take place from 5:30-6:45pm at Lonnie Green Park (130 First Street, Sugar Land, TX 77478), roughly one and a half hours before the film screenings, and directly adjacent to the Sugar Land Auditorium. Purchase Tickets Here
The film festival features both Italian and European films at historic Sugar Land Auditorium, a public screening of a film in Sugar Land Town Square, and additional cultural events and seminars. It is a festival dedicated to the promotion of cinematographic culture and the Umbrian region’s contributions to art, culture, food, wine and craftsmanship. Umbria in Sugar Land is a way for Sugar Land, Fort Bend County and the surrounding Houston region to enjoy the region of Umbria’s culture, while promoting local tourism and economic activity.
