New York Opera Fest is not only offering live performances or staged productions. The event is also showcasing major lectures with some of the industry’s greatest thinkers. Among them is Fred Plotkin, who is easily THE opera expert in the United States. Throughout his career, Plotkin has showcased his knowledge and skill as a writer (you should check out his work over at WQXR.com) and as a speaker, consultant, and teacher.
His lecture in the Master Series 2017 will focus on “Media, Social Media, and the Opera Singer.” He will partner with the Martina Arroyo Foundation for the event on June 2, 2017. Plotkin is also an expert in Italian food, and a New York Times profile on him stated that “Fred is a New Yorker, but has the soul of an Italian.”
