Boy Scout Creates Bocce Court in Downing Park

Joseph Prestigiacomo, a Boy Scout with Troop 174, constructed a bocce court in Downing Park as part of his Eagle Scout Service Project. Prestigiacomo completed the project with the help of Circolo da Vinci, a non-profit organization that promotes Italian-American heritage.

Club President Dorothea LaScala said Prestigiacomo was in a pinch, as his previous attempts to complete an Eagle Scout project were unsuccessful. "All of the projects that he had tried to start initially he couldn't get anyone to sponsor him," LaScala said.
