For decades, Boston has been the home of talented musicians thanks to institutions like the Berklee College of Music. Now it will also be the home of the Sounds of Italy Festival.
Spearheaded by artistic director Stefano Marchese, the festival will take place over the next several months. Its aim, says the Pescara native, is to "promote Italian and Italian-American musicians and their work, as well as create a network."
That networking has already started through the creation of the Sounds of Italy committee, comprised of Berklee professors Marco Pignataro, Andrea Pejrolo and Tino D'Agostino; Berklee alums Marchese and Giorgia Renosto; and Italian Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli.
