The Golden Age of Italian opera is about passion writ large. Its music now occupies a central place on the concert stages of the world. The thrilling voices of two stars of American opera join a coalition of outstanding Boston-area choruses. One of Fellini's greatest films luxuriates in the festive and lyrical music of Nino Rota—who later composed music for The Godfather.
