Sophia Loren has spent a lifetime dazzling fans on the big screen, so it's appropriate that she does the same in a conversation about her life and career. The 81-year-old Hollywood legend, whose down-to-earth attitude and inherent strength broke the mold for sex symbols, has answers for every question that are simultaneously blunt and charming.
Is she following the U.S. presidential election? "Ahhhh," she says by phone, knowing where this is going. "I like Hillary very much. I know her. I like her. I hope that she's going to make it." Does the Oscar-winning actress consider herself a feminist? "Of course, yes. Why, is there any other thing to say about a woman?" she asks teasingly. "I try always to be able to give power to women because sometimes we don't respond the way we should respond. But it's coming, it's coming. Big things don't come like thunder. You need time for people to mature, for men to mature."
