On the evening of March 20th, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington hosted the screening of the documentary “A Coach As Father: the extraordinary story of Sandro Gamba” by Italian director Massimiliano Finazzer Flory.

The documentary portrays the life and achievements of Sandro Gamba, from the hand injury caused by a burst of bullets during World War II, to his career as one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time, who was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors in the world of basketball.
