Highlights of the Festival include:

THE STUFF OF DREAMS - Opening Night Film at the Castro Theatre is Gianfranco Cabiddu's delightful, beautifully lensed tale of a troupe of actors and a group of criminals shipwrecked together on an island near Sardinia. Fashioned after Shakespeare's The Tempest, it won the 2017 Italian Golden Globe for Best Film and the 2017 David di Donatello for Best Adapted Screenplay Castro Theatre. Join us for the film only or the film and After Party at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club in North Beach. Castro Theatre, November 8 at 6:30pm

FRANCA: CHAOS & CREATION - Francesco Carrozzini's poignant documentary is a tribute to his late mother, Franca Sozzani, who was the maverick editor in chief of Italian Vogue. Join us for the film only or the film and a Prosecco Reception. Castro Theatre, November 8 at 3:45pm

FORTUNATA - Sergio Castellitto's drama features powerhouse actress Jasmine Trinca as a feisty, self-employed hairdresser in Rome, who tenaciously pursues her dream of opening her own salon. Winner of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, Best Actress Award, Un Certain Regard. Castro Theatre, November 8 at 9:10pm

THE DUEL OF WINE - Closing Night Film at the Vogue Theatre is Nicolás Carreras' comic portrait of charismatic sommelier, Charlie Arturaola, who takes a mighty fall from grace when he temporarily loses his palate. Charlie tries to claw his way back into the world of competitive wine tasting as a ghost-taster for a handsome but buffoonish friend. A gleeful, stinging satire of the obsessive world of drinking and dining contests. Closing Night Film includes a glass of wine! Film only or film and Italian Wine Tasting After Party at the Osteria Restaurant. Preceded by the presentation of the City of Florence award to the most compelling narrative by an up-and-coming director. Vogue Theatre, November 12 at 6:15pm

INDIVISIBLE - Edoardo De Angelis tale of Daisy and Viola, conjoined twins with heavenly singing voices, who are on the verge of discovering their freedom and sexuality. They can't wait to turn 18 and follow their dreams, rather than continue their current existence as a lucrative religious sideshow attraction. Winner, Best Script and Best Supporting Actress, 2017 David di Donatello Awards. Vogue Theatre, November 11 at 6:15pm

BOZZETTO NON TROPPO - Marco Bonfanti's portrait of world-renowned Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto. Humble and eccentric in the best way imaginable, the utterly charming Bozzetto-best known for the 1976 Fantasia-inspired Allegro non troppo-is the amiable host on this tour of his own vibrant world. Vogue Theatre, November 11 at 2:00pm

CASTRO - Paolo Civati's award winning documentary is set in the San Giovanni quarter of Rome, where families squat in an old school that they occupy illegally. They share the decaying physical space they have named "Castro," and also life's precious moments: celebrating birthdays, watching each other's children, and falling in love. Winner of the Festival dei Popoli 2016 Best Italian Documentary Award. Vogue Theatre, November 9 at 2:15pm
