The Italian class at Vintage House is presenting an Italian Film Festival, starting this Tuesday at 6 p.m. and running for the next six Tuesday nights through Feb. 16. The films are all in Italian, with English subtitles. The festival is themed, "Let's explore Italy together, as it was, then and now." Each film will have a 15-minute introduction that presents the American point of view of the movie from an Italian student in the class, as well as the Italian point of view.
After the movie, attendees will talk about Italy and there will be a question and answer session. The festival pass to all six films is $50 and a single ticket is $10. The first film, "Nuovomondo" ("The Golden Door"), is about a family living in poverty who make the decision to leave Italy behind to seek new opportunities in America. After a dangerous voyage, they arrive in New York to face a number of new challenges as they struggle to assimilate in the massive city that is their new home.
