Mar 26, 2013 808

The first appointment with Fazioli Piano Series was hosted by the IIC in Los Angeles last March 17. The initiative, launched by the Italian Cultural Institute, gets its name from the Italian company that produces grand and concert-grand pianos, worldly renown for the high quality materials and the finest technology of its products.

The series is dedicated to contemporary music written by both Italian and American composers. Composer and pianist Mark Robson was the special guest of the first concert; he performed works by Italians Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Sylvano Bussotti, Salvatore Sciarrino, Ivan Fedele, Ferruccio Busoni and Aldo Clementi, and by Americans Daniel Rothman, Charles Wuorinen, Bruce Reiprich and Mark Robson himself. Both Rothman and Reiprich were present for the occasion.
