Buon 140th anniversario, Saint Leo's ... In the 1880s, the Archdiocese of Baltimore had decided to establish an all-Italian parish as it had earlier for Irish and German immigrants. Generations of Italians have been baptized, confirmed, married and buried from our historic parish of Saint Leo the Great, the first church in Maryland - and among the first in the nation - founded and built specifically for Italian immigrants.

Construction began in 1880 and the building was dedicated September 18, 1881. Please consider donating online. Donations received to date are $80K toward the $140,000 goal!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
Annual St. Padre Pio Mass 10 a.m. in conjunction with parish's 140th Anniversary with celebrants: Archbishop William Lori, Bishop Denis Madden, Father Bernie Carman, S.A.C., Father Sal Furnari, S.A.C., Father Andrew DeFusco, and others. St. Leo's Knights of Columbus Color Guard will present at Mass and host a complimentary brunch in school hall.

SAT/SUN, SEPTEMBER 18 & 19
Parish's 140th Anniversary Celebration during 4:30 pm and 9:30 am Masses (9:30 Mass said in Italian). Continuing 140th celebration with light reception after 4:30 pm and Knights of Columbus Color Guard at 9:30 Mass with brunch after.
