The Teatro Regio di Parma is launching a three-year initiative in the United States focused on civic engagement, intercultural dialogue, and community building through a partnership with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West.
Verdi Off, the cultural and participatory project promoted by the Teatro Regio di Parma Foundation and recognized as one of the most innovative models for community engagement through music, the arts, and civic participation, is expanding overseas through a three-year partnership with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West covering the years 2026–2028.
The first chapter of this journey will be the Italian Excellence Gala & Awards 2026, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on November 15. At the event, Verdi Off will serve as Presenting Partner, marking the beginning of a collaboration that will continue to grow over the next three years and culminate during the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Over the coming years, Los Angeles will be one of the world’s most prominent stages, addressing themes such as inclusion, accessibility, civic participation, and intercultural dialogue.
Luciano Messi, Superintendent of the Teatro Regio di Parma Foundation, stated:
“Verdi Off embodies a vision of culture as a tool for participation and community building – a culture capable of moving beyond traditional artistic venues to meet people in neighborhoods, schools, and places touched by social challenges and everyday life. The project aims to establish a recognizable and deeply rooted presence over time, foster new connections among institutions, public and private partners, cultural organizations, educational entities, and local communities, and contribute to the spread of models capable of generating lasting social impact.”
Marco Giovine, President of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West, added:
“Los Angeles is one of the most multicultural and creative cities in the world, a place where communities, languages, and diverse perspectives coexist and engage in dialogue every day. It is precisely this open, participatory, and inclusive environment that makes the city the ideal setting for Verdi Off’s first initiative overseas.”
More than an international expansion project, Verdi Off’s new initiative represents the beginning of a transatlantic cultural dialogue, guided by a vision of culture that creates connections, encourages participation, and builds communities through the universal language of the arts.
