A new honor in the United States for Valentina Grisafi. The Sicilian pianist and composer won the Grand Prize in the composition category at the International Youth Music Competition in Atlanta with her Nocturne in E Major for piano. The awards ceremony and winners’ concert took place on September 6 at Cary Hall in the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York.
Directed by Adriana Janse van Rensburg, the competition drew entries from around the globe, including Canada, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, South Africa, New Zealand, and South Korea. The international jury awarded Grisafi top marks and also named her Artist of the Year.
