Two Peekskill Businesses Honored During Italian Heritage Month

By: Eric Harvey

Two longtime family businesses in the City of Peekskill were recognized at City Hall on Monday, Oct. 26, on the occasion of Italian Heritage Month. Mayor Vivian McKenzie presented proclamations to the family that operates Homestyle Bakery and to Domenic Volpe Jr., owner of Domenic’s Cleaners and Tailors.

“The City of Peekskill proudly recognizes and celebrates Italian-American Heritage Month, a time to honor the immense contributions, rich traditions, and profound impact that Italian-Americans have made on the cultural, social, and economic fabric of our community,” McKenzie read from a proclamation.
