Through the Lens of Arrival: The Italian Immigrant Experience in Image, Film, and Live Music

Sunday March 8, 2026, 2-4 p.m. The Frick Museum Auditorium, 7227 Reynolds St., Pittsburgh, PA 15208. $15 Frick Museum Members, $20 Adult, Seniors, and Youth (3-17), $10 College Student (w/ ID). Gallery access is not included with the program. We encourage guests to purchase an exhibition ticket to explore the exhibition beforehand.

Inspired by The Frick Pittsburgh's new exhibition Lewis Hine Pictures America, enjoy a live-accompanied screening of the silent film "The Italian" (1915, 1h 18m).

This special program traces themes of immigration, identity, and visual storytelling across photography and early film, enriched by historical insights and examples of archival materials from the Heinz History Center’s Italian American Collection. With Melissa E. Marinaro of the History Center's Italian American Program, Eric Cook of the Pittsburgh Film Orchestra, and Chad Hunter of the Pittsburgh Silent Film Society, followed by a Q&A.
