The Sardinian beach that looks like Tahiti

Is it really necessary to travel halfway around the world to find sapphire-blue water and pale sand? In Gallura, near San Teodoro, there is a bay that has earned a telling nickname: the “Italian Tahiti”.

This beach has shallow water, full facilities and a striking natural setting, with a pine forest behind it and a lagoon visited by flamingos. It is not a tropical mirage, but one of the Mediterranean’s most photographed summer spots, easily reached from Olbia along scenic roads.
