Europe is preparing to make a significant leap in lunar exploration with Argonaut – a new, Italy‑led lunar lander that will provide the continent with autonomous, regular access to the Moon. Developed by Thales Alenia Space, an Italian aerospace company, Argonaut represents a remarkable achievement in European space technology and positions Italy at the forefront of lunar exploration.
The lander will be capable of carrying about 1.5 metric tons of payload, which could include scientific equipment, rovers, infrastructure modules or supplies for future astronauts.
