A career consul for the Italian government since 1997 and now heading things up as Consul General in NYC, Giuseppe Pastorelli made time for some interviews at Informa’s recent Coterie Show at NYC’s Javits Center. Despite a blizzard, retailers came in droves to shop ITA’s 81 Italian brands, stopping to relax at their ski-inspired central lounge for drinks and bites and runway fashion.
Pastorelli’s NYC appointment follows numerous government assignments worldwide: in Turkey (2000-2004), Hungary (2004-2008), Boston (2010-2014), Toronto (2014-2018), and Rome (2018-2025). Asked to select a favorite, Pastorelli proves himself the quintessential diplomat.
