Simone Fontecchio is set for an important summer as the Italian forward prepares to enter NBA free agency for the first time in his career. After his contract with the Miami Heat expired, Fontecchio will become an unrestricted free agent on June 30 and hopes to secure a new deal to remain in the NBA.
The Italian national team star averaged 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 16.8 minutes per game last season while shooting 38% from three-point range. “I hope to find a place for next season,” Fontecchio told Sky Sport Italia. “I would love to stay in Miami because I felt very comfortable there and my family enjoyed it too. It would be important for me to continue what I built over the last year.”
