From Sunday, February 22, until March 22, in the lower church of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, pilgrims will be able—for the first time—to pray before the Saint's remains, as 2026 marks the 800th anniversary of his death. In a time marked by uncertainty, social tensions, and a search for meaning, the display of St. Francis’ relics is an event that goes beyond simple devotion.
For the Catholic Church, it represents a powerful spiritual call and for the faithful it can be an opportunity for a tangible encounter with the living memory of one of the most beloved and universal saints.
