Italy is introducing a national organic label designed to give consumers a clearer guarantee that certified food has been produced with agricultural ingredients grown or raised in the country. The initiative adds a new instrument to the Made in Italy strategy at a time when demand for organic products is expanding faster than the overall food market.
The Italian Organic Label was established by a Ministry of Agriculture decree dated May 26, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette on July 13. Its purpose is to distinguish organic agricultural and food products made with Italian raw materials, strengthening the connection between certified production methods and geographical origin.
