A new professional collaboration strengthens the IFL’s organizational structure and supports the League’s international growth strategy.

The Italian Football League has announced the appointment of Louis Cotrone to its Board as part of a professional collaboration designed to support the League’s continued growth and development.

Cotrone’s appointment is part of the ongoing consolidation of the IFL’s new organizational structure, which aims to integrate expertise and experience from the international arena in order to strengthen its operating model and create new opportunities in business development, strategy and relations with the U.S. market.

His professional background and knowledge of the sports and business landscape in the United States will provide an additional resource for the IFL as it works to build an increasingly structured organization, enhance the value of its product and expand its network of relationships between Italy and the United States.

“Louis Cotrone joining the Board represents another step forward in the growth process we began with the creation of the new IFL,” said Edoardo Cammi, Chief Operating Officer of the Italian Football League. “We want to open our organization to professionals and experiences that can bring expertise, relationships and new perspectives. The U.S. market is naturally strategic for our sport, and having Louis contribute to our efforts will be important as we continue to develop this path.”

“Some of the best and most meaningful years of my life were spent playing football in Italy, and the relationships and experiences I gained through the Italian Football League have stayed with me throughout my career,” Cotrone said. “I strongly believe in the IFL’s vision, growth and potential, as well as in the project that Chief Business Officer Andrea Fimiani, Chief Operating Officer Edoardo Cammi, Commissioner Justin Pugh and the entire Board are building for the League’s future.”

“I am truly excited to return in this new role and to bring my experience in business and corporate development to the IFL. My goal is to help build meaningful partnerships that can contribute to the League’s growth, strengthen the connection between Italy and the United States, and continue promoting the development of American football in Italy and beyond.”

The collaboration with Cotrone is part of the IFL’s broader strategy to strengthen its governance and develop a modern, sustainable model while further enhancing the League’s international profile and reinforcing the connection between Italian American football and the country where the sport was born.
