Presented by the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco and Librai in Corso, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco and CEPELL – Centro per il libro e la lettura, La Piazza is the first Italian literary festival in San Francisco dedicated to bringing Italy’s newest writers to Bay Area audiences and celebrating the country’s rich literary tradition.
The festival showcases the voices and faces defining contemporary Italian literature, including Emanuela Anechoum, Andrea Bajani, Matteo B. Bianchi, Giulia Caminito, Silvia D’Achille, Ann Goldstein, Carlo Lucarelli, and Federico Rampini.
The festival opens on Friday, April 10 at the Italian Cultural Institute and continues at the University of California, Davis, and Libreria Pino. It will close on Monday, April 13 at the legendary Club Fugazi in North Beach.
LA PIAZZA KIDS
La Piazza Kids, the festival’s section dedicated to younger audiences, will feature authors Silvia D’Achille and Benedetta Faedi, visiting La Scuola International School, Saints Peter and Paul School, and Lowell High School in San Francisco, as well as St. Catherine of Siena School in Burlingame.
All presentations are in English or Italian with English translation.
